HISTORYNOtown Roller Derby is a 501(c)3 non-profit, amateur sports organization, founded in late 2008 in Fresno, CA by a group of women with the desire to learn and play roller derby competitively. As an entirely volunteer run organization, NOtown's purpose is to develop and foster roller derby competition for its members locally, regionally, and nationally, as well as to give back to the community that supports us. 2009 was the inaugural season of competition for NOtown and it was a great success both at home and away for the NOtown All Stars. The end of the season was marked with tremendous growth, and as a result, the formation of more teams was vital. The 2010 season began with the addition of a second travel team, the NOtown Gang Stars. In 2011, a third travel team, Raisin Hell, was added. MISSIONOur mission is to allow women the opportunity to learn and play roller derby, to promote women's athletics, provide an exciting game and fun experience for our fans, and to compete athletically.COMMUNITYOur mission is simple: give back to the community that supports us. We, as a group, are involved in several charities throughout Fresno County. Each home bout is dedicated to a specific charity with 10% of our proceeds from ticket sales donated to each organization.
